Conflict
Combat — pick battles you can afford to finish
SpaceCraft combat is part aim, part bookkeeping. You pay in ammo, heat, integrity, time, and morale. This page frames encounters as decisions: what you choose to see, how you close, when you commit, how you farm AI threats sustainably, and how you treat human opponents so the server stays playable tomorrow. Cross-train with fitting, supply, and replacement cost awareness — broke pilots become statistics.
Detection & awareness
Situational awareness buys more survival than extra guns. Learn signature bands: cold running for smuggling, loud running for deterrence. Sweep sectors with deliberate patterns, not random twitching. Teach crew callouts — bearing, class guess, intent — so comms stay compressible under stress. Sensors pair with intel from corporate scouts when available.
Pursuit geometry
Pursuit is energy management. Decide early: intercept, parallel drag, or corkscrew exit. Match velocity before fixing solutions; relative motion lies. Use terrain or station clutter when available; empty void favors number advantages. Know your ship’s turn budget before promising allies a hero hook.
Engagement control
Controlled bursts beat spray. Assign weapon groups to roles: shield scratchers, armor crackers, utility blinders. Manage heat like a budget line; cookouts happen when pilots panic cycle. Plan disengages before engagements — where is the friendly station, who owns the airspace, can you afford repair queues?
PvE loops
PvE farms predictability. Learn spawn rhythms, resistances, courier escort windows. Rotate targets to avoid attrition; boredom invites sloppiness. Bring cargo plans for loot so bases absorb gains smoothly rather than clogging holds.
PvP etiquette & risk
PvP is consent by server rules even when it stings. Communicate when unclear, accept losses without harassment spirals, report exploits through proper channels. Duel requests beat ambush theater if you want spectacle. Know your collateral: contracts delayed, ore burned, corp reputation shifted. If nerves fray, dock, breathe, revisit basics before re-queuing ego.
